Ranch experiences at Legacy Acres
Brush, scratch and hand-feed our gentled Highland cattle and miniature donkeys on our family ranch near Dwight, Nebraska. Visits run April through October, by appointment. 2027 booking opens soon, and gift certificates make a great Christmas gift.
Our main visit
Meet the Herd
Spend about an hour with the herd: brush them, scratch their favorite spots, and hand-feed treats to our Highland heifers, steer and miniature donkeys. Cuddles happen if they are in the mood! Perfect for date nights, girls' nights, family outings and birthdays. Day or evening sessions, April through October.
Shared session: $50 per person (join a set time slot with up to 6 guests, great for 1 or 2 people).
Private session: $100 minimum, just your group.
Group rates: 1–5 guests $50 per person, 6–10 guests $40 per person, 11–20 guests $35 per person.
Kids 2 and under free. Up to 10 guests in the pen at a time; bigger groups take turns.

Gentled Ranch Experience: A longer private tour for your group, with extra time behind the scenes with the herd.
Highland Yoga: Gentled yoga beside the pasture with the herd (a.k.a. Moo-ga). Summer evenings and weekend mornings.
Brew & Moo Mornings: Coffee with the herd on summer mornings, plus a Brew & Moo mug to take home.
Wine & Moo Evenings: Bring your own wine and unwind by the pasture at sunset.
Mini Photo Days: Short back-to-back photo sessions with the herd in spring and fall.
Junior Rancher Day: Kids brush, feed and learn about the herd, and go home with a certificate and sticker.
Christmas photos with Teddy: Holiday photos with our fluffiest bull in his Santa hat.

First Responder Appreciation Day
Every year on the first Saturday of April, we open the ranch to first responders and their families to say thank you. Our first one is Saturday, April 3, 2027. Police, fire, EMS, dispatch and corrections families are all welcome. More details coming soon.

Good to know
Visits are by appointment, April through October.
Every guest signs a waiver before going in the pen (a parent or guardian signs for kids).
Wear boots or closed-toe shoes you don't mind getting dirty.
The animals set the pace, so cuddles happen if they're in the mood.
We share our address when you book.

Give someone a visit to the herd! $50 covers Meet the Herd for 1 (shared session). $100 covers Meet the Herd for 2. Or choose any amount toward a group visit or a special experience. Certificates are good for a 2027 visit, and booking opens April 1, 2027. A great Christmas gift for animal lovers.
